Tomorrow, Mom's birthday :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM

Mom, as I Look Back

As I look back on my life
I find myself wondering.....
Did I remember to thank you
for all that you have done for me?

For all of the times you were by my side
to help me celebrate my successes
and accept my defeats?

Or for teaching me the value of hard work,
good judgement, courage, and honesty?

I wonder if I've ever thanked you for the simple things...
The laughter, smiles, and quiet times we've shared?

If I have forgotten to express my gratitude
For any of these things,I am thanking you now....
and I am hoping that you've known all along,
how very much you are loved and appreciated.
WISH YOU ALL BLOGGERS A MERRY CHRISTMAS
AND A
HAPPY NEW YEAR :)

counting my blessings, as the year ends :)

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
As I was walking down the street,
I saw a man who had no feet.
Because he had no feet to use,
He did not complain he had no shoes.

Then, as I walked further on,
I met a man who'd lost an arm.
He had no coat; he had no sleeve,
I neither heard him cry nor grieve.

In a few more steps, whom did I spy,
But a stumbling man with blinded eye.
He could not walk this path alone,
I did not even hear him groan.

Somewhere else along my walk,
I met a man who could not talk.
He could tell no one of his pain,
He did not grumble or complain.

Another block brought me quite near,
To a man who could not hear.
He never once had heard a hymn,
But he kept his anguish closed within.

In that same block, whom did I find,
But some lost soul without a mind.
A lot of babble he did utter,
But no objection did he mutter.

Not much further did I go,
I saw an old man moving slow.
His hands were gnarled; his back was bent,
Not one complaint, did I hear him vent.

When my walk was nearly through,
I found myself approaching you.
You always say there's something wrong,
So, for that reason, hear this song.

Aren't you aware how you've been blest?
Can't you see you've no distress?
Don't you know how whole you are?
See where you've been and just how far?

Can't you quiet your complaints?
Appreciate those men's restraints?
But...for our Father's loving Grace,
Go you, within those poor souls' place.

Men(boys) and their gadgets

Have you ever seen a man(boy) without a gadget or toy?
the other day one of my colleague/friend had a bet with me. both of us got a bit serious and bet our cool gadgets.

Loosing my toy/gadget was my main concern, though my mind was eyeing out the cool gadget he had on bet and was already starting to make plans.

3/4th of through the task and i was winning, ready to grab his toy and you should have seen the look on my friend's face

like a sad puppy! as if he was forced/half willingly to give his life for his master with tears in his eye.

he justed melted my heart. what to do i would have done the same if i had lost. so i shook his hands and told him to forget the bet and have his toy.

difficult to separate a man and his toy :)

Tears are words the heart can't express

I liked that quote which reminds me of an incident which got a tear in my eye :)

My son is a very fussy eater (all my kids are and so was me tells my mom when i was a kid)
I have to cajole him, flatter him, explain popeye's muscles, be a clown, horse... just to make him eat.

We had to go to the dentist as he had a decay and the dentist did some cleaning of his teeth (another war between him and my mom for brushing teeth). he did not like the sensation plus that week he had his injection(shots) for polio, pox... he absolutely hated the injection.

We tried scaring him saying that we will take him to the dentist/doctor for a shot if he does not eat properly, brush his teeth properly... which worked for a few days, though he still made a fuss.

A few days back i had to go for my annual medical inspection and i took my son along with me to the clinic. The doctor took blood from my arm and took xrays of my chest and spine with my shirt off. my son came home that day and asked for food (keerai rice was available) and he ate it all of it without a word. my mom and wife were surprised and the explanation he gave was...

The doctor injected my arm after tying it and took blood out of it; he also took photos of me without my shirt and he thought all those happened because he did not eat well. so he came and told me you don't have to go the doctor any more for he will eat properly :)

Even that drop of tear in my eye could not express or fathom his love :)

after some time he asked me whether the injection was painful and i replied it was not (foolish of me). he has gone back to his old ways and we have to invent new ways to make him eat properly
