Sometimes i wonder whether God is fair?

Quite a few times I complain, about the food i eat....

My computer and video games...

About my bed being hard?
How I lost weight after the office lift stopped working?
How my waist and bottoms keep getting larger?

Look at the smile in her face :)

The Indispensable Man

Unless you are the sun, you are dispensable, how true.

Sometime, when youre feeling important,
Sometime, when your ego is in bloom,
Sometime, when you take it for granted,
Youre the best qualified in the room.

Sometime when you feel that your going,
Would leave an unfillable hole,
Just follow this simple instruction,
And see how it humbles your soul.

Take a bucket and fill it with water,
Put your hand in it, up to the wrist;
Pull it out and the hole thats remaining,
Is a measure of how youll be missed.

You may splash all you please when you enter,
You can stir up the water galore,
But stop, and youll find in a minute,
That it looks quite the same as before.

The moral in this quaint example,
Is do just the best you can,
Be proud of yourself, but remember,
Theres no indispensable man.

Windows - Made in India

Indians rule the world in the field of software.

Why can't we make our own version of operating system and don't have to depend on Bill Gates.

I think it is a matter of getting the best of Indian brains together or there any other complications or ....... stopping us from creating an operating system?

On my part I can make a logo and a suitable name for it :)

I would name it - JANNALS (Windows in tamil)

and the different versions would be Kattai ( free), Theku - pro etc...

I am not a software guy, but used to playaround with basics of Visual basic but can't even imagin how the operating system is built or programmed?

Anyone wants to join the team of JANNALS?

Still love lipstick?

If there is a female you care anything about, share this with her.

I am also sharing this with the males on my email list , because they need to tell the females THEY care about as well!

Recently a brand called "Red Earth" decreased their prices from $67 to $9.90. It contained lead. Lead is a chemical which causes cancer.

The Brands which contain lead are:
1. CHRISTIAN DIOR
2. LANCOME
3. CLINIQUE
4. Y.S.L
5. ESTEE LAUDER
6. SHISEIDO
7. RED EARTH (Lip Gloss)
8. CHANEL (Lip Conditioner)
9. MARKET AMERICA-MOTNES LIPSTICK.

The higher the lead content, the greater the chance of causing cancer. After doing a test on lipsticks, it was found that the Y.S.L. lipstick contained the most amount of lead.

Watch out for those lipsticks which are supposed to stay longer. If your lipstick stays longer, it is because of the higher content of lead.

Here is the test you can do yourself:
1. Put some lipstick on your hand.
2. Use a Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.
3. If the lipstick color changes to black then you knowthe lipstick contains lead.

Please send this information to all your girlfriends, wives and female family members. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center

Dioxin Carcinogens causes cancer. Do you think people will stop using lipstick :)

Giving 100% plus? Bullshit

Got it thro an email, really interesting

We have all been to those meetings where someone wants more than 100%.

Well, here's how you do that. Here's how you can achieve 103%.

First of all, here's a little math that might prove helpful in the future. How does one achieve 100% in LIFE?

Begin by noting the following. IF: A = 1 B = 2 C = 3 D = 4 E = 5 F = 6 G = 7 H = 8 I = 9 J = 10 K = 11 L = 12 M = 13 N = 14 O = 15 P = 16 Q = 17 R = 18 S = 19 T = 20 U = 21 V = 22 W = 23 X = 24 Y = 25 Z = 26 Then:

H A R D W O R K = 8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = Only 98% Similarly,

K N O W L E D G E = 11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 Only 96% But interesting (and as you'd expect),

A T T I T U D E = 1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100% ...

This is how you achieve 100% in LIFE.

But EVEN MORE IMPORTANT TO NOTE (or REALIZE), is

B U L L S H I T = 2+21+12+12+19+8+9+20 = 103%

Lunch Tips, Sharing!!!

Happiness is not so much in having as sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

FREE! LUNCH! UTILITIES!
I used to be a service engineer some years back in an office automation company. We used to start early morning from the office and return back late evening after finishing maintenance and breakdown calls.
We usually had lunch at some hotel(budget). In the evening when we all gathered together (about 8 of us) one of the topics we discussed was where we had lunch?... some hotel where the food was good / cheap / exotic dish...
We used to share our knowledge so that whenever a guy went to a different part of the city he had info where he could have his lunch with whatever money he had.
I had a few favourite non-veg hotels : Kalpaka, Nair kadai, Biriyani at govt canteen(subsidised - have to be brave to walk in as a govt staff)...
Veg hotels : Gujarat Mandal(unlimited), Musuem canteen, Idlis with unlimited sambar(an art of filling up your stomach with sambar where the order was for 2 idlis only), unlimited thalis at a budge price...
The selection of the hotel depended on the following criteria
1) Money at hand,
2) how hungry did we feel? (quality or quantity?- limited or unlimited),
3) Timing (biriyani only at a particular time)...
4) Peaceful lunch, taking your own time (Nair shop was where people would crowd around your table waiting for you to finish...)
Sharing of knowledge helped us to get through those hungry days :)
Today, I would like to share some free stuff from the net and hopefully you will also contribute so that we can all benefit from it.
I am not a internet wiz, but found quite a few useful utilities for the normal guy like me who can save a few bucks...
As you all know we have free email which is a great utility

Marathon race? Day dreaming!

lly

Last week I walked into a shop and saw the application for the Chennai Marathon. There was a kind of enthu in me which said "let's go and do some running". I am a day dreamer and immediately I had a dream(in day time) of victoriously finishing the race with a final sprint where I overtook the Kenyans to finish first. As they say, in your dreams.

Running has/had never been a favourite sport/exercise of mine. Every time I entered a race right from my school days I always made sure everyone was happy by finishing last. Slow and steady wins the race? not really true.

It took some time to realise my body physics....I am not built for competitive running... but then I enjoy swimming and can swim for miles... I console myself that running is a high impact sport where we can have problems wih knees... while swimming is not so and I enjoy it.

I saw photos of the chennai marathon in other blogs...Kiruba and I am frightened to dream also. Let me get back to reality and stop dreaming. Hats off to the guys who struggle thro the 42 kms of sheer pain.(atleast for me)

Let me enjoy my swim which keeps me on my toes and have fun!!!

CALL CENTRE JOBS

I received this email forwarded to me by one of my colleagues and to quite a few people in our field, mostly expats.

Mujibar was trying to get a job in India.

The Personnel Manager said, "Mujibar, you have passed all the tests, except one.

Unless you pass it you cannot qualify for this job."Mujibar said, "I am ready."

The manager said, "Make a sentence using the words Yellow, Pink and Green."

Mujibar thought for a few minutes and said, "Mister manager, I am ready."

The manager said, "Go ahead."

Mujibar said, "The telephone goes green, green, green, and I pink it up, and say, Yellow, this is Mujibar."Mujibar now works as a technician at a call center for computer problems.

No doubt you have spoken to him….

Well I was not in a humorous mood.... so I sent a reply to everyone on the list...

Mujibur, good joke! Now for the facts!!!

Good you have spoken to Mujibur and had some fun.

You know what was Mujibur's job? Trying to put some sense in the head of the guys who did not know how to operate a washing machine...(forget the computer... that is too much above their heads.)

Mujibur stated some problems he faced too.

People trying to operate a computer without the power being plugged, people who opened their home windows when he asked them to pop up a window.... (you would die laughing if I write all the stupid stuff he told me... that would be a greater joke... maybe the greatest joke)

He said he met some people with an attitude... people who thought they had the brains and thought they could operate a computer...just because they could speak Queen's English with an accent? or had the money.... Bullshit!

He said he needed enormous patience to put some intelligence into these heads...Guys appreciate his patience and be humble when you have to learn something from someone... you will atleast learn something

No doubt you have spoken to him….AND HOPEFULLY LEARNT WHERE YOUR COMPUTER POWER SWITCH IS…

The guys who received the email did learn some facts that day.

I was reading Veda's site about call centre jokes and wished I had that info earlier. Good one.

MUG TAGGED

I have been mugtagged by Ponnarasi, Thanks.

I rarely drink coffee or tea (even in the mornings). So I don't have a favourite mug or cup though I have seen my friends have one at our workplace.

This picture of cup(mug) is courtesy of Jeevan, Thanks.

I remember a piece of travel advise given by my friend when we were on a hiking trip. He said whenever you get to drink from a teashop.....public place, always take the cup in your left hand and that way you sip the cup on the side where not many people have used it?

I lost touch with him, but whenever I pick a cup at a public place I remember him.
Weird but true, I have become a casual left hander whenever I pick a cup or a mug in a public place... etched in my brain?

I learned to add a hyperlink today... :) You might see more links in the future
